Stock futures were indicating a lower opening following suit with oil and gold which were down in overnight trading.
Here are some of the early-market movers for Monday.
McDermott International Inc. (MDR)
Shares were up 9.6% in pre-market trading after announcing it plans to separate its main operating units within the next year through a spinoff of Babcock & Wilcox Co., with the remaining business taking the name of its J. Ray McDermott SA subsidiary.
New York Community Bancorp Inc. (NYB)
The bank announced it would issue 60 million shares to increase its capital level to aid its acquisition of the deposits and assets of recently failed AmTrust Bank. Shares were up 9.5% in pre-market trading.
Terra Industries Inc. (TRA)
Shares of the nitrogen products company were up 7.8% after announcing the board was reviewing the newest CF Industries Holdings Inc. acquisition offer which raised the cash offer to $26.75 per share.
Santarus, Inc. (SNTS)
Shares of the biopharmaceutical company were up 8.4% in pre-market trading Monday after announcing late last week that the FDA approved the company’s New Drug Application for its treatment of heartburn and other symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease. The FDA has yet to approve a trade name for the product.
Akamai Technologies Inc (AKAM)
The Internet technology company raised earnings guidance for the fourth quarter, now expecting earnings to come in between 42 cents and 43 cents per share. The Street is currently estimating earnings of 40 cents per share. The company was up 5.9% in pre-market trading.
American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc (AXL)
Shares were down 5.6% in pre-market trading after announcing it would issue 14 million shares in a public offering.
