Market Winners & Losers: Advanced Micro Devices, Eastman Kodak

The major indexes fell across the board as oil prices slid, pushing stocks lower. The Dow dropped 0.9%. The S&P 500 fell 1% and the Nasdaq lost 0.8%.

Here are Thursday’s winners and losers:

Winners

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD)
News that semiconductor manufacturer settled its lawsuit with Intel sent the stock soaring 21.8%. AMD shares last traded at $6.48, a gain of $1.16 on the day.

JDS Uniphase Corp. (JDSU)
The communications equipment manufacturer saw its stock jump 7.1%, or 51 cents, to close Thursday’s session at $7.71.

Dow Chemical Co. (DOW)
The chemical producer added 7.1% to its stock price after announcing plans to sell more assets in an effort to reduce debt. DOW shares ended the session at $28.60, a gain of $1.89 on the day.

NASDAQ OMX Group Inc. (NDAQ)
The global exchange company’s shares gained 2.4% to end Thursday’s trading session. NDAQ shares finished Thursday at $19.17, up 44 cents on the day.

Wynn Resorts Ltd. (WYNN)
The resort developer continued its rise towards yearly highs adding 1.6% to its stock price Thursday. WYNN shares last traded at $67.61, a gain of $1.07 on the day.

Losers

Eastman Kodak Co. (EK)
The camera and film manufacturer saw its shares rise by 6.3% Thursday. EK shares closed at $4.02 a loss of 27 cents on the day.

Dynegy Inc. (DYN)
The utility provider continued its path of volatile trading as the stock dipped 5.3%. DYN shares last traded at $1.97, down 11 cents on the day.

Lincoln National Corp. (LNC)
The insurance company’s stock fell 5.2%, or $1.28, to settle at $23.49.

Unum Group (UNM)
The insurer’s stock fell 5.1% Thursday to end trading Thursday’s trading session at $19.50, a loss of $1.05 on the day.

Rowan Cos. Inc. (RDC)
The drilling contract provider followed crude lower, dropping 5%. RDC shares closed at $25.39, a loss of $1.34 on the day.
