It might be the economy, stupid...but then you've got this stupid governor corruption case to deal with.
It certainly puts a stupid wrench in the works.
And here's the deal:
The economy.
"The" deal.
The Governor Blagojevich crisis.
The other deal.
One needs addressing and fast.
The other won't let up and is growing fast.
The President-elect addressing both today...
Acknowledging the crisis in his home town...but insisting there's a bigger crisis affecting every town.
It's why he pounded getting that auto rescue.
And that stimulus rescue.
It's why he said appointing Tom Daschle was crucial to a health care rescue.
Rescues that should rescue him from the tedious and sordid details of a governor run wild in a state run amuck.
He seemed to balance all of it effectively today.
But something tells me those economic crises are sticking around.
Just like that governor crisis is too.
