Cavuto: Obama Summoning 'The Godfather'

Missed tonight's Cavuto ? Catch "The Deal" right here on FOXBusiness.com

You come to the Godfather for help.

You "live" with the Godfather after he does.

Here's the deal:

Was that Barack Obama speaking out on executive pay today -- or Marlon Brando?

The President's angry.

Don Corleone would be angry too.

You want their money.

Get ready for their rules.

The president, in his best Godfather impression to date, making it clear to those who feed at the government taxpayer bailout trough:

It's our trough. Not yours.

Our salary rules. Not yours.

Then it kind of spilled over into the "outer limits."

"We" control your pay packages.

"We" control your bonuses.

"We" control who you hire, and fire.

"We" tell you where you take your clients.

And here's a hint...Vegas ain't it.

Poconos maybe...But even if we let you go there...No, and we repeat "no" massages there.

And we also control how you get there.

Forget the private jet.

Go Greyhound.

And forget the expense-paid night on the town.

Try the Denny's all-you-can-eat coupons.

Wake up, Wall Street, life has changed.

There's a new sheriff in town. And he's cheap.

Not on stimulus for us...But clearly, stimulus for you.

Not a bad message, really.

After all, if you're on the public dime, watch your dimes.

And if you can't, the president making clear he's more than happy to watch them for you.

Capping top pay at half a million bucks.

And top bonuses for all but those who truly deserve 'em...which, right now, I guess, means nobody.

The president making clear this new austerity...if you could call this austerity...is only for those who've gotten bailed out...

As for private businesses or companies that have not...I suspect that they, too, can figure this out.

The president has just drawn a line in the sand on pay he thinks is too much and extravagance he thinks is too much, too.

Will those who haven't leeched off the government feel compelled to steal bargain-basement execs from companies rescued by the government?

Opportunity knocks.

And today...so does something else.

Big Brother.
